All BASSMAXX products are built in the USA using only the finest quality components available, which are chosen because they offer unsurpassed performance and reliability. We use innovative system design and practical application of the newest and best technologies to make owning premium quality audio equipment surprisingly cost effective.
This philosophy makes BASSMAXX speakers the most practical, user-friendly, lightweight, solid, and indestructible loudspeaker we could possibly make. Our cabinets are hand-made by master builders in North Carolina and designed to take years of rugged work without damage or failure. We offer a 30 day money back guarantee on any product to ensure that customers are thrilled with their purchase, and back up our loudspeakers with a full no-fault warranty on all components, including subwoofer drivers, for two years, and on cabinetry for six years.
BASSMAXX loudspeaker systems are proven to be some of the most premier products in the industry, having been chosen to provide intense, legendary live sound for the most extraordinarily demanding music in the most extreme environments for the past decade. BASSMAXX systems have been powering stages at Ultra Music Festival in Miami for the past seven years, creating legions of fans of pure, deep and extremely powerful bass.
In 2013 BASSMAXX provided the sound for the UMF International Stage, aka ‘the Street Party stage,’ which provided two weekends of full-tilt, hard core EDM for 12 hours a day, three days in a row, with no blown drivers. Artists such as Bassnectar, Afrojack, Skrillex, Skream! + Benga, Porter Robinson, Mt. Eden, Borgore, Flux Pavilion Vs. Doctor P., Sub Focus, Afro Jack, Fedde Le Grande, Kaskade, Zeds Dead, Krewella, Andy C, Kill the Noise, 12th Planet, Wolfgang Gartner, and many more performed to overflow crowds thrilled by the intensity of the sound and the depth of the bass.
BASSMAXX gear has also provided huge systems for the mother of all gear killers, Burning Man, for three years with Root Society. Tens of thousands of screaming fans were treated to consistently incredible sound and reliably intense bottom end that kept the audience dancing until the sun came up. The systems were working 24 hours a day for four days in a row, without any driver failures. BASSMAXX gear has been on countless raves, live gigs, club installs and touring productions, and we’ve used the live production experience to refine and perfect the technology and design of our products until they are as bullet-proof as possible.
At BASSMAXX, our guarantee has been built upon our own testing and re-testing of the reliability of our products, and we are confident enough to warrant them fully. Our flagship product, the SSP218 Dub-ill Profundo Subwoofer, was released in 2008 and has been used in clubs, raves, festivals and gigs since then, often for dub-step, rap and reggae, some of the most bass heavy music out there. In five years, no customer has ever had a blown driver. With BASSMAXX products, you will never recone another subwoofer.
BASSMAXX integrates our speakers into systems that work consistently, simply and beautifully in the real world, not just on paper. We work with customers to configure their BASSMAXX products individually based on location, use, budget and size. We offer expert assistance with design, installation, tuning, system improvements and retrofits, and BASSMAXX products can be used in conjunction and support of your current system, or you can opt for the full-on experience. BASSMAXX was founded by Austin, TX based, life-long loudspeaker enthusiast David Lee and fellow designer Johan van Zyl in 1999, based on their interest in designing and building subwoofers. In the intervening years, David has continued to develop the BASSMAXX line, and now is designing exceptional quality, high-fidelity loudspeakers of all types.
David Lee first started tweaking with loudspeakers while still in high school and by 17 was working in car stereo. By 1986, at 20, David installed his first independent nightclub system.
As he began developing club installs while still working with hi-fidelity home theater systems, David was exposed to the highest-end audiophile systems on the market during the day and assaulted by loud but remarkably unrefined professional loudspeakers by night. He was deeply disappointed by the audio quality he experienced at live concerts and nightclubs, and began building his own boxes with the goal of encompassing exceptional sound with extraordinary power and rock-solid engineering. Twenty-six years of research and development have been dedicated that goal, and have achieved it in BASSMAXX products.
David attempted to replicate the sound quality of audiophile equipment using pro-audio components, but couldn’t purchase products at the time that would deliver the performance he was seeking, so began building them himself. Many hours of research in university libraries and hundreds experimental box and system builds deepened his knowledge from a hands-on perspective. These were the years preceding the development of the Internet and software to assist with designing boxes and horns, and paper and pencil were the only option. David began to fully develop his aesthetic of intense, pure, immersive sound, and worked to bring it to life.
In the intervening years, David has been involved in the installation of sound systems in over 100 venues, and has personally owned nightclubs, so understands the challenges that face the sound professional. He has designed and tuned systems both for install and production that included practically every brand of loudspeaker on the market, for nearly every type of venue, be it festival, concert, club, house of worship, outdoor or arena.
