ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL 2013

March, 2013 – UMF 2013 was the seventh year in a row that BASSMAXX has provided speakers for ULTRA Music Festival in Miami, the world’s largest Electronic Dance Music Festival. This year was an extraordinary chance to prove the robustness and quality of the newest BASSMAXX subwoofers – the new ZV28 SUBMERGENCE System. The World Wide Stage hosted the biggest names in bass music – Bassnectar, Borgore, Flux Pavilion Vs. Doctor P., Sub Focus, Afro Jack, Fedde Le Grande, Kaskade, Zeds Dead, Krewella, Andy C, Kill the Noise, 12th Planet, Datsik, Wolfgang Gartner, and many many others. For a slew of posts, images, videos and more, please check out our Facebook page and our Twitter feed.

We debuted two new products at ULTRA this year: the ZV28 Profundo Subwoofer and the DiaMon DJ112 Monitor. They made quite an impression – the ZV28 is a crushingly intense and physical low-LOW bass box, and the DiaMon DJ112 is the most compact and powerful box we can make. The DiaMon uses the componentry of the killer CCM112 YesMon Monitor but is shaped especially for use as a DJ monitor.

“25 Hz is the new 50 Hz – ULTRA Music Festival”

ProSoundWeb Post by ULTRA System Tuner Doug Fowler

There’s an excellent blog post by Doug Fowler, of St. Louis-based Fowler Audio Service and system engineer/tuner for Ultra Music Festival on his professional opinions of the BASSMAXX ZV28 on the ProSoundWeb. Doug is a legend in the audio world and we’re honored by the mention and enthusiam.

“BASSMAXX ZV28 -  David Lee has been working on this design for several years now and has improved every iteration.  He used 16x of these beasts on the UMF Worldwide Stage (the “street party” stage), with some uppper bass boxes on top.  We could hear things in tracks that would have not been present with “normal” subs, meaning usable response only down to the mid 40s.  This thing would blur your vision and modulate your voice, no problem.  I have been told this is the weakest of the 2×18 line, with lower power drivers.  I am keen to hear the high power version, this thing is sick.”

Doug posted his own measurements of the ZV28 which show that this box is truly revolutionary in its low frequency abilities, and not just marketing hyperbole.

Castro’s has had huge success with their after-hours shows that rage until the wee hours of the morning on the weekends and 2:30 AM other evenings. Check out their line-up on their Facebook page.

Managing Partner Dallas Downs shared his reasoning behind choosing a BASSMAXX system. “We bought BASSMAXX because for months we were blowing subs and couldn’t keep spending money on a sound system that kept breaking. BASSMAXX is a product that we can put in and not worry anymore. The sound is like no other, and the way BASSMAXX speakers are setup, we have more options on how the sound is configured in the room. Each speaker can be turned up or down individually from the DJ booth. I am happy I went into GC Pro and asked the manager for the best product.”

KEYBOARD MAGAZINE MARCH 2013

A simply killer review in the powered monitor feature from Keyboard Magzine March 2013 of the CCM112 YesMon Monitor!

“…Here’s the big deal. This thing is loud – for its size, the loudest speaker I think I’ve ever heard. You could be in a 2,000 seat theatre with everything except your keyboards going through the house line array, and the back row of the balcony would be able to hear them just fine. I couldn’t turn the keyboards volume up past a third without literally becoming frightened of how loud it got. Not that the speaker showed any hint of getting crispy – it remained clear as a bell. BASSMAXX also sent us their SSP115 sub, which… turned my rig into something approaching a one-keyboardist Ultra Music Festival… If having the most swagger of any keyboard player you know is worth the price, going BASSMAXX would be how you get it.” Stephen Fortner, Editor

one2one

Summer, 2012 -BASSMAXX installs systems for much more than just dance music - One2One Bar is a live music listening room that features some of the cream of Austin’s amazingly diverse home grown talent.

One2One Bar sounds world-class, with a compact but robust system of two AT312 Attuned Tops and two Z-5/D Motiv Horns capably filling the room with the sounds of some of Austin’s best bands.

Owner Gregg Ware raved about his BASSMAXX install, saying “It took me all of 30 seconds to hear them before I knew that I was purchasing these speakers. The networking capability and DSP software are a must for a live music venue and make it incredibly easy to fine tune your system on the fly. Unparalleled sound quality and craftsmanship put BASSMAXX above all other speakers on the market whether it be live bands, DJ, Acoustic or comedy.

BASSMAXX is honestly the best sounding system I’ve heard, and is by far the most responsive and cleanest sounding system I have ever used. If I was using another product, I would have to have double the amount of speakers and power and probably then wouldn’t even come close to what BASSMAXX delivers.”
